Ways to be volunteer?

Hi, i am veri interested in being a volunteer to take care of those small and young child that need love, care and teaching who growing in a unhealthy or probamatic family. I have seen before in hk drama there is this kind of volunteer work who take care of children in veri small age becos their parent are unable to take care of them i want to know whether it is truth? Is there such a volunteer work exist?? If yes, how can i find ways or through what kind of people i can join the volunteer work to take care and help the young n innocent kids?? I am SERIOUS..please reply if u knew the ways..Thanks alot!

Start with the group "Volunteers Of America".  Google that group and contact a local chapter.  They used to send out a catalog listing a huge variety of volunteer jobs.  I've done a variety of work through them - all of it very rewarding.

Is there a battered women's shelter nearby? Women escaping from an abusive situation often take children with them. The children need someone to help them with homework or play with them after school.
