Everytime I get a cold, it usually lasts at least 3 weeks.. everyone says it's cuz i don't eat healthy like i should.. and they're probably right.. but uh.

i got a cold a couple days ago.. have a stuffy nose, headache, congestion, coughing, sore throat, etc...

and i just started college... so i have school to go to.. plus work.. and i really don't want to miss any work or school days..so i'm trying to just deal with it.. but i've heard there are ways to make your cold go away faster... like, drinking a lot of liquids or something like that.

So, if anyone could help me.. i'd appreciate it. Thank you!

  1. I agree with the Vitamin C part and also get lots of sleep and try not to do much P.E (Physical Ed)

    Hope This Helps..

  2. Sudafed PE severe cold. my colds lasts about 2 weeks. but i started taking sudafed severe cold, and it got rid of it in a day, im not kidding. you should try it.

  3. Yes...vitamin C and fluids(to stay hydrated)...but with modern medicine,we still don't have a cure.I also use nyquil before bed for a good rest.My grandmother used to have a saying.

    If you take drugs for a cold,it'll be gone in 7 days.....if you don't , it'll last a week.

  4. Vitamin C and B (especially B13)

lots of water... minimize milk etc as it will make you more congested

get as much rest as possible

    eat healthier!

a good hot shower should help sinuses a bit

and don't swallow any phlegm i.e. blow your nose as much as possible... this will minimize backflow into your lungs causing delayed healing

also you should try and get outside and go for walks in teh sun (vitamin D and it will raise your endorphins and make you fee happier :))

  5. 1. Drink lots of clear fluids (esp. water). Stay hydrated and more hydrated than usual. It will help loosen the phlegm in your lungs and also help flush the sickness c**p out of your system.

2.Rest. I KNOW you are too busy to rest. BUT do your best. Don't dawdle after work. Try to do your homework in your jammies with a cup of hot tea next to you.  Whenever you have the chance, REST.  Your body will get well much faster if you let it spend its energy repairing itself.

    3. Get plenty of Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps your body mend itself and bounce back from infection.

    4. Take Tylenol to keep fever down.

My parents are a doctor and a nurse. I grew up hearing this advice, but never heeding it until I was an adult. Now, when I spend even just 1 whole day resting and drinking lots of fluids (water, jello, popsicles, more water...) - and not neglecting to eat regular meals), it does wonders for my recovery.

  6. Vitamin C

  7. I agree with other answer, Vitamin C
