I just want to improve it.I don't even know what my PR is but it's probably kinda slow. I've been doing base miles and I'm up to 4 so far. How can I make my time faster?

  1. well i also run so what i suggest is the only way you can get a better time is to improve your pace go to a track and run 400 rps 1 lap and each time do a different pace...

  2. You need to get a training plan.  Schedule days to run 5K, 10K at a slow pace for endurance, 1K sprints, cycles like jogging for 1/4 mile, jog 1/8, then run 1/4, jog 1/8.

  3. just keep up the running base up for the rest of the summer

join a team or something after that to continue

  4. To improve your time, I suggest mixing up your workout schedule a bit. Include some speed workouts, like sprints and 400m repeats. You should also include some muscle workouts, ab workouts like sit ups and crunches, or some hill sprints. You should try looking up some 5k races scheduled in your area and try to get a PR there. You should also suggest a cross country team at your school, get some names of people willing to do it, and show it you sports director or anyone with that authority. Hope this helps and good luck!

  5. Just pick someona a little faster than you, and try to stay with them, then at the next race, pick someone fatser still.

    Keep movon' on up!

  6. Get a training schedule to start out with you can create one at Runners World.com . Then stick to the training schedule don't slack off. In a race pick someone who is going a little faster then you and try to keep up with them the whole race.
