  1. For future reference it would really be in your benefit to stay on Disney property next time if you are planning to spend more than one day doing the WDW parks.  The value resorts (All-Star Movies, Music, Sports and the Pop Century) start at around $80 a night.  While staying on Disney property you can use Disney's free Magical Express shuttle which will pick you and your luggage up at the airport, drop you off at your hotel, and upon check-out pick you up and return you to the airport.  While staying on WDW property if you want to spend a day outside Disney property you can call a cab, rent a car or go to the Ticket and Transportation Center and catch public transportation there to go to outside parks.  (The last option is not recommended it can take hours to get there).

So, since you have opted to stay off of Disney property you will have to rely on a taxi or rent a car.  You can catch either one at the airport to get you to the hotel.  I recommend booking your rental car soon if that is what you plan to do.  And please note that taxis will probably be expensive considering the traffic and location.  The taxis can charge a base fee, fee per minute and will include the time spent waiting in traffic.

Your only other option would be to drive your own vehicle if you live in the states and aren't clear across the country... it may take longer, but when you factor gas vs airfare + taxi (rental car) driving may turn out to be cheaper.

Good luck to you, but next time make sure you check on complimentary transportation to the parks if you plan to stay off property.

  2. As a cheaper alternative to taxis, you can catch a Mears shuttle at the airport.  They will drop off multiple people who are heading in the same direction, so the ride is cheaper than a taxi.  I have used them several times and have always found them to be courteous and timely, and cheaper than a taxi.  I haven't done it in a while, so I am not sure what the fee is now, but they have a website where you can get info.

  3. Rent a car if you must.....or taxi......did'nt save any money by going cheap at the hotel..........not a good move........
