Question:

Ways to prepare for the school year?

Ii'm going to be a junior. Last year was really an off year for me, I got terrible grades and was in a bit of a depression. This summer was the best summer of my life and the people I met are really going to get me through the year (we'll all hang out, even though they all live in different towns). I've finished one out of two of my summer reading books so far and have a paper due for history on the first day. I go back on the second. What can I do starting today to keep myself busy so I don't fall back into my depression? How can I reconnect with my old school friends that I really haven't seen all summer? (I'm obviously staying friends with my camp friends).

I just need to start getting into the mindset so any organization tips, tips for getting my summer work done, tips on what to do my last few days of summer, and even tips for the school year would be much appreciated!

  1. U CAN GET READY BY GETTING A NEW STYLE, CHANGE UR LOOK OR GETTING A NEW ATTITUDE... INCH UR WAY INTO POPULARITY LIKE I DID BY BEING A LITTLE QUIET IN THE BEGINING, OBSERVING WHAT IS IN AND WHAT IS OUT. LEARN FROM IT, THEN LITTLE BY LITTLE START TALKING TO PEOPLE U NORMALLY WOULDNT, MAKE SMALL TALK ABOUT STUFF THEY R INTERESTED IN .... THEN KEEP TALKING TO THAT PERSON BUT ADD NEW ASPECTS INTO CONVERSATION LIKE STUFF U R INTERENTED IN BUT REMEMBER TO NOT STAR TO FAST AND TO KEPP IT UP DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY.IT MAY TAKE LONG BUT  THATS WHAT IT TAKES. COMPARE INFO SHARE INFO AND THEN B4 U NO IT THERE FRIENDS WILL BE TALKING TO U AND THEN JUST DO THE SAME THING TO THEM SMALL TALK FIRST.... THEN SOONER OR LATER ULL GET THE HANG OF IT..... HEY IT ISNT EASY IT TAKES TIME I SHOULD NO JUST DO WHAT I SAID AND U WILL BE A BETTER , HAPPIER PERSON... I DID IT AND IT WORK IM NOT TELLING U TO CHANGE UR WHOLE PERSONALITY IM JUST SAYING THAT U COULD BENEFIT FROM MY EXPERIANCE AND HAVE THE HIGH SCHOOL YEAR U WANTED....EMAIL ME FOR ANY OTHER HELP ON ANY SUBJECT .. 3. Hm, I suppose be involved in clubs, play an instrument (creative outlets are awesome :P), and keep up with your studies. But keep in mind that families/people do argue and get in disputes, so you'll have to work hard to keep up that positive attitude.

  4. I'm also going to be a junior, so hopefully my tips will help you.

What I'd do is to make a schedule. If you keep your mind busy with what you need to do, then you won't think about the depression. Assign a little bit of reading every day so that you can get that done by the time you get back. Or, you can make a time every day that you just sit down and read it. Like, 10-11 AM and 2-3 or something. I suggest doing the same for your history essay. Make a timeline of what you need to do everyday. You should do research for the first day, then a rough draft, editing, type the paper up, edit, have someone else edit, polish it up.

When your done, or you have some free time, break out the phone book, and call up a friend. Talk to her/him about what he/she's been up to this summer. Make plans.

This is also an excellent time to show your parents you care about them. Ask them if they want to go see a movie. Take a walk. Go bike riding.

If you still have some free time, take the time to clean up your room, or go exercise. Exercise releases endorphines, which make you happy :)

    I hope I helped.

  5. Have fun! junior year was super fun.

Get involved in after school activities, like theatreo r yearbook, if you can.

You'll probably be getting your license soon right? you have that to look forward to as well.  And can you go to prom this year??

Clean your room before school starts.  Thats my main thing.

  6. Wow, is all I can say right now. You sound so much like me. I was in a funk all school year last year. Half way through I switched to an online school and that put me into an even bigger funk. But once summer hit. It turned out to be the best.I will be a junior too!

Make a schedule and stick to it. Set it in hour blocks from when you wake up to when you fall asleep. Like in the morning when you wake up, get dressed, go for a walk, eat breakfast, do a hour of school work, call and talk to your old friends (see if they wanna do something), spend a couple hours with them, come back and do another hour of school work, have some family time around dinner, get ready for bed, and journal (i found this summer that it helped keep me out of my depression this summer).

Before school starts call and rekindle your friendships. Have a night out with the girls. Have a sleep over, do each others hair and makeup and do nails. Pamper yourself before school starts. Make yourself feel good for the first day of school, so you will have the confidence to rock it.

During the school year make a schedule and stick too it. In the morning wake up at a time that will make you feel confident that you wont be late for the bus or if you get a ride wont be late for school. Do your morning routine.Go to school, keep your head up, and pay attention, dont let yourself get distracted in class by your friends, you have passing times and lunch for that. After school go home and do your homework. When you are ALL finished, THEN you can call your friends and see if they want to hang out. Make sure you keep family time. No matter how much your teenage hormones are telling you you hate your parents, they will always be there for you, before your friends and boyfriends. Put them first.

As for your permit, it wont be so hard to get. Dont worry about that. I already have my lisence.

Prom is usually in May, you have a whole school year to worry about that.

Dont worry about those things right now.

Focus on how YOU personally can make this a great school year. You have to have that mindset that it will be the best yet. YOU have to be that change.

I wish you all the best this upcoming year. Good luck and conqur it.

    :]

  7. Just go have one last h**l of a party, drink as much as you want (dirty minds, I mean JUICE) and hang in there. School hasn't started yet, have some fun
