Question:

Ways to tolerate high school football?

Over the course of h**l week, my interest had significantly dropped for football. I was injured on the second day of h**l week, and because of that, I've been sitting on the sidelines doing nothing. My injury has since healed, but I'm still on disability leave and I can't do what the rest of my teammates are doing. I can't play in the first game of the season (because I didn't make all the h**l week practices) and in all, I'm just getting bored.

First game is on Thursday, but because I can't do anything, I just don't want to show up to practice. Ugh. Help.

  1. Hey many schools put such a big deal about there football program. but it doesnt mean you have to play. if you feel like your miserable and getting sick of the sport simply quit and find a activity youll like to do.

  2. Sounds like you need to take the focus off of yourself and find some way to contribute to bettering the team.  Team's hate whiners. Don't be one. Teams hate people feeling sorry for themself.  Don't.

  3. unknown has the right answer.

you must have real passion for the game and not give up. learn the position and show the coach your passion that you want to play. Otherwise the game is not for you if you dont have the heart to stomach the lows and getting back on your feet.

Dont be miserable, go find your passion. even if its not football.

  4. u shouldnt do anything u dont like. if u dont like football anymore, its probably not ur cup of tea. just because people say that if ur a loser if u quit football, just do it. u will meet new people and dont have to deal with them.

  5. Dude I had heart problems and I couldn't do anything for 4 weeks because they thouth I had a hole in my heart or a leaky valve. So I was like you in the sidelines. I went everyday of practice and studied the position I wanted to be and I thouth coaches wouldn't start me.. And today was my first day of practice (Cardiologist didn't find a hole in my heart or leaky valve, so my heart is perfect :)

And coaches saw that I had heart for the game and talent and now I'm their starting RB. And I came back better than ever. I even missed 2 games, but still showed up.

Just keep showing up so you can show your coaches that you have heart for the game and you really wanna play.
