If a waitperson drops your expensive leftovers (and more than half of the meal was left over) on route to the kitchen to pack them up for you, what do you think should happen?

  1. Restaurant should make good on that... discount on meal, replace what was destroyed, gift card.. something. If the waiter doesn't seem responsible, ask for the manager. If the manager is indifferent and the restaurant is part of a chain.. reach the regional manager. Still nothing . . . does your local TV have a "bad business" buster segment?

  2. Well i dont think a person a person should ask for a doggy bag. Its bad manners really. In UK this rarely happens, Seems stingy.

  3. they should giv you either a small portion of what you had

  4. offer to make another, apologize, and ask if there is anything else they can get for you. also, get their manager to do a "table touch" and make sure that everything is okay

  5. It doesn't matter whether the leftovers were expensive or not. The restaurant should immediately apologize and offer to either comp your dinner or make you a replacement meal.

Any restaurant that doesn't do either of these without prompting will no longer have my business and will receive poor reviews in the Zagat Survey as well as other foodie review places.

  6. Make you another meal or give you gift cert for next time...

If they didn't do that then you should send a letter or an email to them or their corporate headquarters and complain.  Most likely they will make up for it somehow then.

  7. I think they should make another meal for you to take home, it was their fault.
