Question:

We'll travel to spain in june. is it safe to spend some nights in our car? where should we park and sleep?

we're a couple and we're planning to spend kinda of 2 weeks in spain. we don't want to spend to much in hotels.. we can sleep in our car... but we wonder if it's safe? what places are best? should we pay something if we park somewhere?... thanks for your suggestions

  1. Just use your common sense and do what you would do here in the US. Where do you think you are going... Kinshasa???


  2. I wouldn't recomend that at all, not just the confort factor but also safety (especially if you're not fluent in Spanish).  Try a hostel, they can run as little as 15eu per night and they’re great for meeting other people in a budget so you'll get the scoop on bargain buys in town.

  3. It should be there are gas stations on the highways that the truck drivers stay at they are nice places so try that, you will not need to pay anything for it

  4. Depending on what part of Spain you plan on traveling sleeping in your car is fine. While stationed there my room mate and i did exactly that. We slept in the parking lots of airports and bus stations where there were always people. Also don't be afraid to stop at Hostels which are located all over spain. Some are just a room with a bed and a shared bathroom / shower at the end of the hall on each floor but for 15-20 dollars it is nice to be able to sleep on a bed and shower once in a while.
