Question:

We're causing global warming, right? so......?

does that mean we caused the Ice Age as well!!!

Basically this question is saying : how can we blame ourselves for something that already happened before, WELL before man invented stuff to destroy the ozone layer etc. No matter what we do, if Mother Nature decides it to happen, ITS GONNA HAPPEN. Do you agree? if not why?

  1. Agreed.  We know that the atmospheric level of CO2 has increased by 10% over the last forty years.  But the data on temperature is inconclusive.  Even if there were a temperature trend, we don't know whether it is an effect of CO2 -- or a cause -- or completely unrelated.

  2. We are putting back the Co2 that was taken out of the atmosphere .

  3. Listen up all of you right wing evangelicals in disguise. If you had actually attended a real school instead of being home schooled on that evangelical BS, you would have the answers to all of your questions already. You see, you can pray all you want but the only thing that is gonna solve problems in this world is science and technology. So just let the overwhelming majority of scientists that agree that anthropogenic global warming is real solve the problem and you stop confusing the issue by believing right wing driven, jesus-camp sponsored groups like the Heartland Institute. Go back to reading your bible and being igonorant and let the real people (AKA, scientists) solve the problem. I can guarantee you, scientists will solve the problem faster than your "god" who is just about as real as ceiling cat, the flying-spaghetti monster and the invisible pink unicorn deity.

  4. ok. let's solve the problem.

let's take away the pollution, and what causes global warming from the scene.

imagine this earth is has no anything that makes global warming. there is a probability that there is still gonna be global warming---but---in a less chance. today's standard of living makes that probability high, however.

but since it(global warming) is already existing, you really can't blame human civilization! we are just making our live easier--which is essential right? without technology our life would be more difficult. that, in turn, happens to trigger a disadvantage, which is harming the environment--the global warming.

so, it's just a matter of believing "everything happens for a reason--our reasons"

  5. Well fact is... we are still living in an Ice age.. sounds odd? Well its fact.. The earth generally has more years without ice within its history, than it does with.

It is the natural cycle... between ice age's and warmer times. in our current time, we are coming towards the end of the last ice age (when glaciers retreated about 12,000 years ago) It just so happens that since the industrial revolution, Man has actually sped up global warming through emissions.

Good or bad.. we know sea levels are rising.. ice caps are melting faster than they have over the last 50 years and your right... it is going to happen.. but we can work together to slow down the time scale.. allowing more time to think up ways of saving millions from starvation or floods.

  6. Global Warming is natural. AGW is an expensive joke. On us. It's just the latest excuse for Liberals to feed their egos and control our lives, because obviously, THEY know far more about what's good for US that WE do.

    Arrogant ***holes.

And we have NO DATA telling us that there was EVER a time without an ozone hole.

  7. Human activities are accelerating a natural cycle.  There's been a lot of study about past cycles, but none that compares to the current event because of the new human-related factors involved.  One episode that's been the subject of much research is the Younger Dryas, a prime example of dramatic and rapid climate oscillations. There is much debate about what caused it, even though this happened only 13,000 years ago.

Human nature is overwhelming Mother Nature.  Inaction and ignorance is the worst path we can take at this juncture.  Information and action is the most prudent course possible, and one that future generations will applaud us for following.

  8. I don't agree because if you look at the natural warming and cooling trend of the earth, it's been pretty consistent over the last few million years. However, since humans started polluting SO MUCH, it has gone up and up and up and we are way past the point where it should go down. it's supposed to be a wave pattern and it's not dipping back down like it has in the past. We are producing way too much co2, which traps the heat in the atmosphere and warms the oceans which causes glaciers to melt which causes more warming. it's a nasty cycle that is definitely influenced by human activity.

  9. Advocates of global warming aren't ignorant; they know that climate change happens naturally.  But the Ice Age didn't begin or end overnight.  Geologically, what's happening with global temperatures now is essentially happening "overnight."

    That's the difference.

  10. No credible scientist ever said we cause global warming.  It has been said and backed up that we enhance it, cause it to occur at an alarmingly fast rate....  Yes it is natural, you can have a GED and know that, so what...  Stop being dumb people.

  11. I'm waiting for the "Climate Change / Global Warming" scare to blow over in a few years, and after we're pulling ox carts to work and living in tents and eating worms, while paying exhorbitant and punishing taxes because we had  to drive our cars to work once.  Al Gore, Barack Obama and all the other proponents of illegal taxation will be lining their pockets with our hard earned cash while living in giant comfortable and well-lighted mansions.

Wondering what the next scare will be.

  12. There are many factors which can cause global warming.  Variations in solar output, variations in the Earth's orbit, greenhouse gases, etc.  Just because the climate can change naturally doesn't mean we can't change it.  Here is a good explanation of how the climate changed in the past and how we know humans are causing climate change this time.

Think about it - your argument is that because climate changed naturally in the past, humans can't cause it to change.  By that logic, because forest fires happened naturally in the past, humans can't cause forest fires.  Then how do you explain Smokey the Bear?

    Nailed.

  13. At the rate were going, yeah, it's gonna happen. But we didn't cause the Ice Age. Mother Nature struck. Were destroying the Ozone and some people are too dumb to see whats going to happen.

  14. yes we are causing global warming

  15. David B ;         No, you humans did not cause the Ice-Age!...,,,,CO'2 measurements have not been higher for hundreds of thousands of years or more.,,,,,You fill in the blanks.,,,,,But you're Lucky!....If you are under 40 Earth years of age, You will find out 1'st hand about Global Warming in your lifetime. ...can you swim?,, GOOD!,,,David!!...

  16. Just because the earth has warmed and cooled before does not mean we do not have the potential to make it war or cool more than is natural.

  17. If only the bigheaded idiots promulgating the global warming swindle had been around back then, no doubt they would be scratching their pointy heads pontificating about how they caused it all.  What incredible egoists.

  18. Yeah I agree, we have no impact on the earth and its climate

  19. Of course the climate has changed naturally before.

But the data clearly shows the present, unusually rapid change, is mostly caused by us.

All those scientists aren't crazy.  This is real.

  20. no.

thats like saying that if all wood floats ans you burn wood. you burn wood so whiches are made of wood and float.
