  1. it's very accessible from rathmines. it's close to the centre. Don't know about the hostel but it is a nice area.

    enjoy

  2. Yes, a friend stayed there with her daughter last year - I think her daughter was around 9 or 10 at the time, if that makes any difference. She thought it was really nice, it has good facilities (I think it has internet facilities, a hairdryer etc in each room or something like that) and was pleased with the service. Rathmines is very accessible to the city centre - it's so close it's almost an extension of the centre itself, esp. Lower Rathmines Rd, as it's a sort of main street through the area.

You can walk to the city centre in about 10-15 mins or so, or there's loads of bus routes that'll take you there in about 5 minutes (traffic depending - Rathmines can get congested) e.g 14, 15A/B/C, and so on. Although the routes might have changed since I was last in the area, so have a look at the Dublin Bus website for specifics.

The only possible problem I can think of is noise - Rathmines is a very studenty area and there's quite a few bars, clubs etc around. Having said that, my friend had no hassles, and said she wasn't disturbed at all. Enjoy your stay!

  3. You're very close to the city centre in Rathmines, just a short bus ride away, or you can simply walk.
