What are the "things" and sites that we just cannot miss. Thanks so much. It's our first time (husband and I) to visit Italy.

  1. I visited Italy last summer and it was absolutely amazing! You will have the time of your life... Florence is the only city of which you mentioned that I visited while there and it was really charming. There were so many "things" to see that its truly hard to name them, but I'll list a few:

The Duomo is the jewel of Florence! It is a beautiful domed cathedral that is an absolute must see.

The Ponte Vecchio is an amazing bridge with tons of shops and lots of little secrets!

The Uffizi is the city center and the most important "spot" in Florence because of all the history!

And of course, you can't go to Florence without seeing The David! Oh my goodness... it is seriously one of the most amazing creations I've ever seen!

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip! Italy is so fantastic! Just talking about it makes me want to go back!!

  2. The art museums in Florence are wonderful, I also loved checking out the cathedrals and the shopping.  But my ABSOLUTE favorite place in Europe is Cinque Terre!  The beaches are lovely, the food (esp the pesto) is delicious, and the views are incredible.  I enjoyed taking the boats from town to town, seeing the cliffside town appear out of nowhere.  A great hike to take is the Walk of Love, which connects two of the towns.

  3. I've so much fun looking at all those fat @ss american tourists rolling up and down taking pictures and beeing screwed by "natives"!

  4. What to say in so little space?

Florence - Ufizzi for sure, Academia a must, Pitti Palace for a leisurely stroll. My favourite if you have a day is take the #& bus to Fiesole. Away from the heat is a quiet village with history, a beautiful view and about 10 degrees less heat. Visit the monastry and the ruins eat a gelato on the terrace and return revitalized.

Venice - Walk get lost - enjoy fall in love and explore. There is lots of tourist things to do but I enjoyed exploring the neighbourhoods more than anything. If you speak Italian ask the residents in the neighbourhoods about their life. They are so proud of the city. Enjoy.

Cinque Terre - haven't had the luxury to have spent more than one day there yet. But can definitely suggest take a boat trip on the Ligurian to see the coast from it's best angle. Catch a ferry in Rapallo or Portofino for a 2-3 hour tour with guide for a truly breathtaking trip.

    Enjoy

  5. My husband and I are going to Milan, Florence and Cinque Terre this summer too! Our plan is to visit the hot spots in Milan (we're only going to be there 1 day) and Florence, and go hiking and lay on the beach in Cinque Terre. We're staying in Vernazza, which people highly recommended. We wanted to hit Venice, but we don't have the time, due to our first half of the trip will be in Switzerland. Email me and we can talk about our trips!
