We're in the middle of a gas crisis..?

Why don't they just ban/ stop making rediculous gas guzzlers like Hummers, etc? Anyone reading this who owns one....Thanks for contributing to Americas dependence on foreign oil.

Actually, SUV's have a very small impact on our depends on foreign oil. Many of the more direct reasons we depend of foreign oil are as follows.

America is a higher number of drivers per capita than every other country.

America has a higher overall average of travel distance than any other country.

American travels more, and futher, per capita, for vaction, than any other country.

Consumer goods, demanded by the American population require more commercial vehicles in use than any other country.

More recreational vehicles (boats, atvs, dirt bikes, go carts, snow mobiles, etc) are used by Americans than by any other country.

Military use of petrolium, factory useage, and others also contribute to our dependancy on foreign oil.

All of these, and more, make America depend on foreign oil, SUV usage is but a cup of water out of the ocean when they are compared.

Because that just might hurt a few oil tycoons. The government is not going to stop doing that, it would hurt the economy. That is why Bush is occupying in Iraq on the pretense of helping them become independant. They will be getting ready to build 14 new military bases. To make sure we have our fair share of crude. This is coming from a Republican.
