  1. If you haven't noticed, the Property Market, throughout Europe, is going through hard times!

Better wait for a year, or so.

  2. What is RE/MAX? I don't think we know enough about whatever it is. Maybe more advertising would help?!?!

  3. Dont open an estate agency in the current market, look around there are a lot closing, If you do open one, look at the success or otherwise of this brand and enquire as to wether it offers you value against other franchise options or going it alone. For me the concept of self employed may well be flawed in the uk, as we are used to the comfort of salary etc.

  4. My understanding is that is has mostly to do with the compensation mechanism for real estate agents: they are usually salaried with very little commission and no incentive to go that extra, whereas at ReMax they get little or no salary, have to pay a set fee, but in return get 70% of the commission they generate.

Therefore, since real estate agents are used to getting a salary as base for compensation, they were not attracted to this US model.

    Hope this helps!

  5. Re/max have got franchises all over Scotland and they appear to be doing ok because there's more opening.

I can only say that the housing market is slowing down across much of the UK and that might well be the cause of problems in London.

  6. I know someone who had a RE/MAX franchise and who felt they were badly let down by the company in terms of support. You should do your research extremely carefully before committing yourself.
