We've been to grancanaria about 7 times now and we have found that the best time in going is about october

October is a good time, yes, but I wouldn't say that it's the only good time to go.

I'm not too keen on July & August, too busy and it's too cool for me in January & February but the rest of the year is good.

Trouble with October is that theres a lot of school holidays then, but I guess if you're a family then it's the best time to go :-)
