We've improved and adapted to the conditions, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ST-Finn-c2566 - Cricket News Update
The in-form emerging http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 pacer Steven Finn is excited to see his side making a strong come back in the one-dayers against Pakistan, after losing the three-match Test series 3-0 to the same opposition.
The number one Test side England, lost by a whitewash to the Test number six http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in the recently concluded Test series. But the Poms have been doing better in the One Day International format, achieving victory in the first three of the four-match ODI
series. The fourth and final one-dayer scheduled is to be staged at the Dubai International stadium tomorrow, February 21, 2012, and a win for England will mean a series whitewash for Pakistan. It will be sweet revenge.
Finn reckons the reason behind an improved show in the ODIs is that players have adapted to the subcontinent conditions.
"I wouldn't say it makes up for the Test series defeat," said Fin speaking to media reporters on the eve of the fourth and Final One Day International against Pakistan.
"I'd say it shows we've improved and adapted to the conditions and now have the chance to make it 4-0 on Tuesday. It is a great opportunity for us to ram home what a good one-day side we've become," he added further.
The 22 year old pacer has been the pick of the bowlers. He is currently the leading wicket taker with 11 wickets, at an impressive average of 8.36 and an economy rate of 3.06 runs per over. In the first two ODIs he returned with the exact figures – for 34.
It was his best performance, and he carried on his form in the 3rd ODI as well, claiming 3 wickets for 24 runs, during his spell of 10 overs.
Asked about his startling performances in the series so far, the gangling medium pacer said he was bowling well since the start of the itinerary in January.
"I said at the beginning of the trip that I thought I was bowling well. I thought that I was capable of playing. It's nice to just get an opportunity and helping the team win games really spurs me on," said Finn.
The ODI series will be followed by three T20 Internationals.
