We've seen the surprises of 08..who will be next years surprises?

What teams will be the surprises of 09 and why? Will the Red Sox fall? Will the Yank make it to the WS? Will the Rays be in the WS? Are the days of the Angels leading the West over with? Will the Giants be contenders? Make your predictions here, :]

The surprise of next year will be the Florida Marlins payroll will be $28,000,000 higher than ARODS yearly salary. But they will still be Deafd Last in payroll again LOL!!!

Oh god how about this as a big surprise....everyone counts out the Twins yadda yadda yadda And they make the playoffs....Happens every year -_-

I'd give the Rays another year. The Red Sox and the Yanks'll probably meet in the ALCS. The Angels reign is over (too many free agents). Giants will be contenders but I'd give 'em another year(For prospect Nick Noonan)

For the surprises I'll go with the Pirates(LaRoche and Hansen)

Do the Cardinals count?(Beast rotation, Pujols)

Giants(Fred Lewis, John Bowker, Rotation is improving)

Marlins(I don't know if they count, beast infield)

Orioles(Jones, Sherill, prospects)

and the Royals!!!(Gordon, Butler, rotation)

This is one I have...

Manny Ramirez will be a Giant in 09. Consequently, they win the division.

The NL Central will be won by the neither the Cubs or the Brewers but the Cardinals. In fact, the Brewers will finish 2009 with a losing record (No CC and Sheets will get hurt again. Same for Cubs-Zambrano and Harden both get hurt).

dodgers will rise in the west and detroit will give em' h**l in the east.  the sun will set on manny who retires midseason 2009... after a lengthy absence from bball involving a yak, a spritual guru and an earthquake.... sorry, LA.

well, as you know i love the angels but i'm saying this out of slight fear and some respect to your ballclub rangers fan

watch out for the Rangers!!! ;)

i'll also say pirates and orioles.. oh yeah i think the braves will have a pretty good season next year..

What? It's August 2nd. The post season is 2 months away. What compels you to believe the surprises for '08 are finished? Bet you whatever you want that they AREN'T over.
