We adopted Brandi! + an update & questions :]?

Question

For thoes of you who answerd my last question; thanks so much! And here's the update some of you asked for. Okay, so we went through with the adoption. So far, everything has gone as planned. Today, we had Brandi her very own Christmas. We told her we called Santa and he was going to make a special stop for her. It was awesome. Seeing her face was great. Her smile was too big for ger face. God love. She is fitting well with our family. She is sleeping in my room until we paint her's. She has change so so much over 2 days it's amazing. She literly never stops smiling. Oh yeah, and remember how dad works 3 hours away!? He found a job 5 mins away, + it pays about 13k more. Pray he gets it! Please, that would be PERFECT. Anyway... my question is: How do I make Brandi feel welcome. I play with her alot, but it doesn't seem like enough. I know some things I'm going to do... I need more. When my friends come over, I'll ask Brandi to do some stuff with us. That use to make Kate so happy. [tbc]

Oh course you will! Heres an idea .. why dont you guys raise a little money and go shopping! You guys could have a family camp out in the living room!

Give her some time to get used to you and your family. She's obiously new to the family, so just give her some time. Keep on encouraging her to feel welcome.

If you want to love her the same, then get to know her more. Play with her alot, make her laugh, make her smile, treat her like the rest.

Glad you got to adopt her. She is going to be fine. Give her a chance to figure out how her new home operates. She is taking in so many new things right now. Keep doing what you're doing, let her be your shadow. Hugs, kisses and hanging on to your shirt tail (so to speak) will make her feel right at home.

Congrats to your mom and dad on their decision to go ahead with the adoption and the new job. I'll keep you in my prayers.

im glad it worked out. you guys will be fine, dont put so much pressure on yourself. you are doing great. she will fit in just fine. she will feel more like family over time. she just has to get comfortable.

Hi, so happy to hear all went well so far. I think you are doin heaps to make her feel happy you dont want to over do it. I'm sure you do love her just as much as your other sibilings, it just dont feel like it at the moment. I got my fingers crossed for your dad to.  Good luck.
