We are a couple (m and f) visiting Rome this week for 3 days how much spending money is advisable?

it is expensive, however if you go to back street restaurants and eat where the italians eat, you will be pleasantly surprised. we had a meal for 2 consisting of pizza each, side salad, garlic bread and litre of house white wine and it was delicious and only cost £12!! couldn't believe it! However places like piazza navona you are likely to pay near that for a glass of water!!! Be warned, check out the prices in hot tourist spots if you are on a budget!

Rome is a bit more expensive than London, I would take about £500 for three days.

Imagine you are going to London and take as much again because of the Euro. Have a great time, it's wonderful city.

Rome isn't massively expensive compared to London.  I'd allow about £100 a day, but then I do tend to spend quite a lot on days out and dinner.

You can find Hotel and B&B at 40-50 euro near Termini and Trastevere.

A pizza is about 5 euro, a bottle of water 1 euro, a big beer is 4 euro, pasta is about 7-8 euro.

Ticket bus and underground is 1 euro

Rome is quite expensive but not at all like London... London is more expensive, surely

Roma è molto più economica di Londra, potete starne certi! E se vi adattate potete trovare hotel o ancor di più ostelli anche a 50 euro! Anche per mangiare i prezzi (a seconda della zona) sono piuttosto accessibili... Un consiglio: per gustare tutti i tipi di pasta andate da Pastarito Pizzarito! Divertitevi!

About 600 euros should be sufficient. Based on 100 euros each per day. Cities can be expensive but I hear Rome is fab so enjoy!
