We are a going on an all night vigil in two weeks, what equipment do you suggest we take with us for best?

Are you experienced in doing this stuff? Are you going with anyone who has? or is this just a group get together. Since I don't know where your going I can only generalize. Dress warm, take water and something to snack on. Bring a good first aid kit. Emergencies can happen anywhere. are you going to be separated at any point? Bring walkie talkies. Extra batteries for anything you have, flashlights. Good dependable ones, not wal mart chinese specials! If you are looking for EVPs, then you will need a good recorder. Are you looking to take picks? a good clean camera will be best. Quality, not quantity. Are you looking for video? Again a good quality cam corder set on a tripod is best. Using a tripod gets rid of the jitters.  If your not using a tripod. Practice using a camcorder first. Learn how to use it so your not shaking the thing around and making sudden movements. Use slow and steady movements.  Of course, an EMF is good but not necessary, but what the heck. Make sure you have permission to be where ever your going to go. Let the local law enforcement know your there if the law can be applied. You don't want a trespassing charge filed against you or anyone else. respect where ever your at, especially hallowed ground! And finally clean up anything you have left behind. Nobody likes a group that leaves their trash behind!!!

Sounds like spooky fun. Bring a still camera and a video camera with extra batteries and tapes. Bring a digital voice recorder too. Although there are myriad gadgets now in ghost hunting, I don't think any of them are going to give you more compelling results than what you would get with audio or video recording. The equipment at the top of your list should be as follows.

Torch

Camera

Video Camera (optional)

Tapes & memory cards for the above

Tripod for video camera

Batteries (lots of as they drain so quickly!)

Candles & matches or lighter (for seances and divination, also spirits like them as they give off energy)

IR Thermometer (optional again)

EMF or Gauss metre (yet another optional)

But most of all seeing as it is in 2 weeks wrap up warm as I've known places where the temperature has dropped as low as -3
