We are a team to be taken seriously, warns http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 – Cricket News Update
Upbeat after clinching a comprehensive 43-run win over Kings XI Punjab at PCA Stadium, Mohali on Saturday night, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals' skipper, Rahul Dravid, has warned the IPL franchises of complacency when playing against his team.
Speaking to the media reporters at the post match press conference, after beating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 based Kings XI by a massive 43-run margin, the 39-year-old former Indian skipper said that despite coming as underdogs into the ongoing latest instalment of Indian Premier
League, they have played good cricket and have shown that they are a competitive side, to be taken seriously.
"I think we have shown in this competition that we are a team to be taken seriously even though not many people have given us much of a chance this time," said an upbeat Dravid.
"We are underdogs in most games, but we like being that. We play good cricket and we have shown that in this competition...Every game we played have been competitive and we have fought till the end," he added further.
After losing four IPL games in a row, Shilpa Shetty’s Rajasthan Royals bounced back strongly with a comprehensive win over Preity Zinta’s Kings XI to keep their hopes of making tournament playoffs alive.
Dravid, who scored 46 off 39 balls last night, said that their batting is quite strong. He further added that the inclusion of Australian duo, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SW-Tait-c2616, into the squad has bolstered their bowling attack further. Asked about his personal
form, the right-handed top-order batsman said that he was enjoying his game and hoped to carry the form till the end.
With 10 points from 11 games so far, the Rajasthan based IPL franchise currently stands at number five on the points table. But the Royals’ skipper is positive about his side’s chances of qualifying for the next round.
“With five games to go, I hope we can get a bit of a roll here and hopefully, we can qualify for the eliminator," said Rahul Dravid, who was given the charge of Royals after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672 opted out of the lucrative league at the end of season four.
Royals will next play http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 at Pune, on Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
