We are about to buy a used diesel truck anyone have a feeling on which is better a Ford or Chevy?

Anyone who tells you you are going to get 17/26 mpg in a diesel truck has never owned one or driven one.

17 will be the high end.

I have had a chevy 1 ton duramax diesel and now own a ford f-250 with the powerstroke.

Both are great trucks.  Ford is no tougher than chevy, and chevy is no better than ford.  Find one with a fair price and hopefully with some warranty left.  Used cars are a toss of the dice.

Being a diesel I would recommend a ford. Preferable the 7.3 diesel. great power and economy. Average around 17/26 depending on model and gear. Maybe check msn used automobiles with more detailed info.

buy a chevy because their gas mileage is better unless you're buying a f 150 then buy that.

i drive a 04 ford one ton i get just over 400 miles per tank.. i like the ford it drives better and pulls better than any chevy ive had
