We are all backing Rohit Sharma, says Ravichandran Ashwin – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RG-Sharma-c2309 and feels that everything is fine as long as the team is doing well.
The 25-year-old batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Maharashtra-c811 has had a poor run of form in the current years and especially in the on-going One Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, managing merely nine runs in four matches, which is not
acceptable at the ultimate level of the game.
The Men in Blue however, have done a remarkable job in the Island, winning the five-match series 3-1, with the last match still to be played at Pallekele, today.
Ashwin is delighted with the team’s performance and hopes to continue with the same momentum in the coming months, which brings fresh challenges to India.
The off-spinner is of the view that any player can go through a decline of form and is confident that Sharma will get over this period sooner rather than later. He also claimed that the whole team is supporting the right-handed batsman
in difficult times.
"It's a team game and as long as the team is doing well I don't think anyone should comment," said Ashwin. "I don't think it's the right thing to do. Everybody in the team will be backing each other and we are doing really well so
there is no necessity to talk about anybody at all."
Sharma played out of his skin in 2011, winning two Player of the Series awards. He is considered to be one of the finest young talents in the country and the Indian fans will be hoping that the stylish batsman finds back his touch
to strengthen http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in September/October.
The wily off-spinner further hinted that his team may not make too many changes for the dead-rubber at Pallekele.
"I wouldn't think so [that changes would be made], but it's totally left to the team management. We are just looking to go up 4-1 in the series. I think as we go on it will help us in the [http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625] rankings as well," he added.
