  1. Of course, it is the Media, and they want sensationalism not truth.  But this time, their lust for disaster helped get folk moving.   Which was a good thing.

I just wish they took the time to really look at what was actually going on.  Especially in the areas outwith where they think the big story lies.  They were hoping for another Katrina type situation again, as that would have let them go to town on government and aid agencies.

The BBC is one of the worst and the most biased for that sort of reporting.  Especially if they get a chance to down the USA.

It would be a good idea to build the levees a bit higher I think.  At least in areas they know will take the most pressure.

  2. They had to overreact - after all they are the media. Fortunately it wasn't as bad as Katrina or Wilma. The levees held, but maybe for safety they should be built higher.

Have you seen the Tropics lately? There's Hanna, Ike, Josephine... that means no school Thursday!

  3. The media is better overreacting than underreacting and leaving people in harm's way.  The levee height is immaterial.  It will eventually be overcome by nature.  Only human arrogance believes that man can control nature.
