We are all tired: Michael V Cavic?

Well...I'm going to state what I think happened, don't lecture me please. Answer Yes or no or don't answer at all. I'm just posting this because few seem to be thinking this yet, more and more are starting to. Cavic won, the Footage shows it, (WE HAVEN't SEEN IT! Just the athletes). Cavic's coach says CONTRARY to alot of bs media, "I don't agree with it but rules are rules." Heres how i think it went down: Serb wins, they see it, but everyone announced Michael the winner. What happened? The coasting Cavic's touch didn't register right away, leaving Phelps victorious. What did FINA(the administration) and OMEGA (the equipment company) decided to pay off the Serbs for two reasons. FINA why? Better for the sports publicity. OMEGA? They're pads failed at one of the worlds most intense olympics races of all time. Bad for them if people knew. Why isn't the video released? The Serbs won, but have already been paid off. Will they release it? Yes. and how will it be when people see the serb win? They won't. The video is going to be edited (modern day technology and the underwater distortion will be easy enough for a company like OMEGA to be able edit) and we see Phelps win. Phelp supporters rub it in others faces and the Serbs left sad knowing they won, while Cavic and his Coach make off with a nice purse to spend. Beautiful FINA and OMEGA, grats on f***i*g the world over in a great race so Phelps and America can get what it wants once again. Really, i'm impressed you guys managed to pull this one off. BTW- Interviews before the olympic were taken with Cavic and he said he wanted nothing more than to beat Michael and get the gold. Another media company posted that he said he was going to olympics to be happy with the bronze medal. Sorry guys, Something seems reallly fishy, Of course theres a large chance I'm wrong.

As I politely asked, if you don't want to answer me with a yeah man I agree, or no, i honestly think your wrong, (and you can nicely say that in an answer, that would be awesome. (Point out and back up why im wrong, i want to feel good about Phelp's victory, I do support him but want this to be true. Thanks, and please no answers just to be pissed at me, its not worth your time.

  1. Sorry, I disagree with you.  Phelps won. I've watched footage (they might not have released their slowed down footage, but anyone can take the footage that was aired and slowed it down like here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOo6RlIj4... and you can clearly see Phelps touched the wall first. And if the video is unclear to you, you see Phelps' hand bend, showing that he touched the wall. And they didn't "pull it off". They didn't pay anyone off. The pads didn't fail. Nothing was faulty. There was no scheme, they didn't edit any footage, there was no scandal. They just were able to prove that phelps touched the wall first by .01 second.  The companies could care less who won, so they wouldn't go to any great distances to make it look like phelps won if he really didn't.

  2. One one-hundredth of a second...

A number in time very hard to conceive. Kind of like trying to picture a trillion of, well, anything. But the touch pads don't lie. They did not fail. The touch pads are very sensitive for just this reason. To eliminate, beyond a shadow of doubt, any controversy or speculation of the results. To remove the possibility of human error, as seen by the naked eye. Celebrate Michael's victory. He won "by the skin of his teeth"!

  3. Man I totally agree, just look at this:

    http://100thofasecond.com/

    GLORY TO CAVIC!!!

    GLORY TO SERBIA!!!

  4. Whoa, that's a lot of stuff. All I can say is this: from every prospective that I saw, it was almost impossible to tell who touched the wall first. However, there were two angles that I believe show the answer: the overhead and underwater cameras. From what I could tell, both cameras appear to show that at the last possible moment, Phelps' fingertips just barely touched the wall before Cavic's did.

The whole idea that the sensors didn't register the coasting Cavic doesn't make that much sense, since the senors are made to sense any touch by an athlete. Speed is not a factor when it comes to touching the wall. Plus consider that they didn't remove the sensor after the race. They continued to run races with the sensor and it functioned properly in all the other races.

I highly doubt that FINA and OMEGA are trying to s***w the Serbs. The videos that they saw was the same video we saw LIVE last night. Modification to the video would have taken a heck of a lot longer than a minute. And with such a rush to modify the video, there would have been obvious tell-tale signs of modification.

The race was certainly the closest race I've ever seen and I would have been satisfied it either man won or it was called a tie. However, Phelps had one last stroke whereas Cavic glided into the wall. The stroke gave him one last push into the wall that Cavic lacked. And once the video had been slowed down to the ten-thousandths of a second, it appeared that Phelps just barely outtouched Cavic.

  5. what r u high? the under water view clearly shows that Phelps won...NBC even stopped the camera when phelps touched and cavic hadnt yet...Phelps won clearly

  6. 3 different camera angles stopped and slow motioned showed Phelps touching first. Get over it.

  7. Phelps won. The underneath footage showed it, but it was hard to tell with the side view. They had to slow it down to a hundredth of a second to see the results.

  8. I completely agree

  9. I think you are 100% wrong

first of all, everyone (including phelps' mom and the AMERICAN commentators) thought he was gonna take silver but he slammed to the wall with his last stroke and beat Cavic. It's that simple. They actually DID release footage of the touch right after it happened, no editing, and it's clear Phelps won. I don't see why people don't understand it. No one was "paid off" and the pads aren't wrong. Why would they suddenly, in this race, break? I also think it was disrespectful to insinuate that Cavic was pissed, read his website blog, he's totally happy and he and his coach did not file the petition. Phelps won, thats all there is to it.
