The captain of India's U-19 cricket team, Unmukt Chand, on Monday expressed confidence in his team and was hopeful his boys will do their best to win the quadrangular series, commencing on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, in Pothinamalliahpalem.
While talking to the media reporters ahead of his team’s opener against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, Unmukt said that they have got a strong side which is capable of doing well in the tournament.
"We are a promising side,” said Unmukt while addressing a press conference on the Monday eve.
“The team has undergone two weeks rigorous training at Bangalore. We are confident of doing well in the tournament. It's a great opportunity for me to lead the side," he added further.
The Australian U-19 skipper, Cameron Bancroft, also said that his team is fully prepared for the tournament and looking forward to get the series started on Tuesday.
Besides India and Australia, the quadrangular series will also feature U-19 teams of West Indies and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758. The One Day series will be played between September 27 and October 9.
The coaches of all the four sides have exuded confidence in their players as the top four U-19 teams are gearing up to clash for supremacy in the One-Day series.
The coach of Indian Under-19 team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bharathi-Arun-c47970, said that the quadrangular series will provide the players a platform to test their prowess against some good sides. He said that the tournament will help the players prepare for next year’s U-19 World Cup.
Bharat Arun also expressed satisfaction over the team combination, saying that they have got a good assortment of batsmen and bowlers in the squad.
