What's a reasonable sum do you reckon? 10%? 15%? Us Brits aren't accustomed to it, and I wouldn't want to cause offence.

Have you got a Black recycling bin ?

If you have, turn it over - and look for a disc saying "World Tag"

This is an embedded RFID chip.

They will eventually have these on all waste bins. They are pioneering waste collection lorries that weigh your bin - as it tips. They will then set limits  - and charge accordingly, or just fine you if you're producing too much.

As I have a right to a private life, does this knowledge of what I bin infringe my rights?

If they did start charging - First all the roadside bins will be overflowing, then flytipping will become the norm - Just as in the old days of the village midden.

Well our bins haven't been emptied so I might have to!  I've tried to get through to cleansing & waste for 2 days & they just put this stupid automated voice on the phone so that it's not pos to speak to a human.  At my expense.

Fly Tipping = ILLEGAL DUMPING of REFUSE/RUBBISH/WASTE ! It should NEVER be carried out as the DAMAGE it causes to the Environment DAMAGES the Planet for YOU, ME, EVERYBODY including Pets & WILDLIFE etc. ! It can RESULT in the OFFENDER being CAUGHT & ending up in COURT & being FINED a LARGE AMOUNT of MONEY (£'s) & then having a CRIMINAL RECORD which can POTENTIALLY affect your FUTURE !

ooh, i'll have that fridge i can use it as a compost bin, and the tree trimmings will rot down, i'll stick them in the hedge as part of my 'beetle bank'. my mate will take the hard core for the path to her field.

that just leaves the nappies and asbestos sheeting..
