We are going to Austrailia in October. Where is a good place to stay for lovers, and how is the weather?

We would like to stay somewhere romantic and where the weather is nice, 70-80 would be nice.

Any ideas what cities are good, with shopping and nice hotels.....and how is it in October?

Noosa in October has lovely weather. It's a great place for 'lovers' cos its quiet, with intimate restaurants, lovely markets, fab beaches. It's not too far from Brisbane either so you can split between the two.

Bear in mind that Australia is a huge country and you need time to travel around from one place to another, but there are heaps of nice spots all over.

If you are between Cairns and Sydney, you should have a look at Noosa Beach, it's quite nice and you can take a tour to Fraser Island, which is very beautiful and romantic as well.

Byron Bay (about 6 hours north from Sydney) is another possibility, but it's more hippie than romantic.

When I was living in Australia, I saw photos of a place I never forgot, it's called White heaven beach is seemed really like heaven, unfortunately I haven't had the time to check it out, but you should have a look before you make your decision. Have a good trip!

October is a lovely month in Australia, warm but not too hot spring weather in most parts, and one of the dryest months. I think it the best month to visit.

I would suggest perhaps one of the Whitsunday Islands (resorts) for romantic relaxation, or Sydney or Melbourne if the emphasis is to be on shopping/city experiences.

In October it is spring, so it might be a little cool in the southern part of the country. I would head to Queensland or the north of Western Australia where it is warmer and you can loll on a beach, sip cocktails and have sultry romantic evenings.

Check out Broome, Port Douglas, the Whitsunday Islands or Noosa at the tourism site below. These places have great hotels and 'resort' shopping.

The best shopping is in Sydney and Melbourne, further south.
