  1. CRAZY DRIVERS!!!

    KIDNAPPING!

    MURDER!

    DONT GO!

  2. Stay in the good ole USof A. Every year girls disappear in Mexico. It's almost guaranteed you will have trouble. Mexico is not the beautiful and quaint place it used to be. It's VERY dangerous. Years ago my wife and I went many times, but no more. It is not safe even for men or families.

  3. lol.... why would you go to a place that scares you.

    don't go.

  4. get a few Mexitel phones sent to you before you go

that way everybody can stay in touch if you separate temporarily

(you can't all shower at the same time, you know)

Also you can use these to call the US for $1 per call (normal phones cost $1 per MINUTE), which will keep everybody at home calm

  5. There is nothing to be afraid of. As with anything use caution. Use normal precautions to gaurd your belongs (lock doors, hold purse carefully, etc.) You may not want to drink the water, but do not worry, every store will have bottled water for you to buy. The Mexican people are very friendly and helpful. Have a wonderful time!

  6. The first answer may be from some one who only has visited the border area. The worst part of Mexico are the border towns.

Most of Mexico is saver than most of the US.

  7. Yes, why don't you just stay in the USA? Why not be insulated and isolated and keep propagating the image of the dumb, ugly American with no sense of the world outside of the USA perspective? Come on people, we need to be better than this. I mean it is not like they are going to be staying in youth hostels in Mexico City (not that that is not a worthwhile adventure but obviously not for these girls), they are staying in an all-inclusive resort outside of Tulum! This spot was chosen to be the showplace of Mexican tourism by the government and is as sanitized as any spot in Mexico (and probably the world) can be. If you do not go looking for trouble, you will not find trouble! If you are looking at doing dangerous things then you will find the trouble you are looking for. Just enjoy the sites, shopping, food, and drink and you should be fine! If you start venturing out for drugs and other illicit activities then you will be dealing with the unsavory side of that area and you may run into trouble, but that could just as easily be on the outskirts of Orlando or any other tourist spot in the USA, trouble is out there if you look for it.

  8. "Tex," "Josh" and "blue27" are 24 caret American idiots and "Rob" is right!

In all the tourist resorts there are special "tourist police" who watch over the tourists very well! These places, especially where you are going, are safer than ANY city you could visit in the USA!

Of course if you act like idiots, go drinking and smoking dope with strangers in the middle of the night to deserted beaches and flash huge amounts of cash around you are probably going to end up in big trouble, but this is true in France, England, Canada, Florida, California, China and Sweden, not just Mexico!

I have lived in Mexico for 15 years and spent my vacations with my family in Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta, Iztapa-Zihuatenejo, Mazatlan, Veracruz, Tecolutla, Patzcuaro, Cancun and even about 10 times in one of the most "dangerous" places, Acapulco and have never had a single problem yet!

In Gran Bahia Principe you will be safer than you would be in Boise, Idaho, trust me! Just use common sense........

  9. There is nothing to be afraid of. If you use common sense you'll be fine.

Canadian and American media blow the few incidents that do occur way out of proportion. I'm not sure where you are from but if it's a big US or Canadian city you are likely safer in Mexico than at home.

Edit: Don Colibri I should have just read your answer - you get a thumbs up from me!
