I read that the staff is not very friendly or helpful. Has anyone had the same experience?

  1. Hola!  Lets face it.  When you go to a HUGE all-inclusive chain you get different treatment than say you would if you were to stay at a more intimate smaller resort.  That's just how it is.  If you tip, and tip respectfully, you will be treated well.  They aren't there to be friends with you.

Also, most resort workers in Cabo aren't from Cabo originally.  They come from the mainland and are only there to work.  Some understand what side their bread is buttered, and will charm the pants off of you...but most just want to make enough to send back to their families on the mainland.

I recommend you go visit the shanty town in the Arroyo outside of San Jose del Cabo!  Most of the men and women (and their children) that live there are very poor...earning less than $4 a day.  Your tip of $1 goes a long way.
