  1. Well its depends if you have a regular church it might be free (though most churches are just out for the money) My daughter cost $150 AU and  lasted around an hour. You child must wear all white (traditionally in a dress type robe but now a day most boy don't wear them they wear a white baby suit) You have to provide a christening candle most of the time as well as having a God Parent (who traditionally would take over the role of teaching your child about the religion should they feel you have failed but now a day is just a trusted friend)

The priest should give you a leaflet about the day and what to expect and what to bring and that type of stuff when you ask about it.

  2. How much what?

A Christening is an initiation into the Church, your son, he should wear white, you need to talk to your pastor on the ceremony since you don't' see to have any knowledge of it. Usually churches have orientation meetings at least twice before baptism is administered to your child.

  3. Do you mean how much to have the service? We'll I'm planning my daughters christening and these are the plans.

Church Service: they don't charge but have asked us to tell family and friends to put donations in an envelope to hand in at end.

Outfit: It's up to you. Many put boys in a white silk sailor style outfit (about £50) but people also dress boys in smart pants and shirt. There are no rules on what they have to wear.

Party: If you're having a party afterwards you will have to pay for room hire (mine is £50 for 5 hours) and then theres the food to pay for. Can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be.

Invitations: If it's just family and close friends you could just ring around.

    Hope this helps.

    Additional Details:

    I've sent you an e-mail.

  4. You should be able to get most of your answers from the church where your son will be christened.  The Pastor will be able to tell you what has been the tradition of this service within the church and what other families have done as well.  This includes what to wear, etc.

  5. It is not very much to get chrisened. for a better idea you should have a talk with the priest at the parish you want him christened at. and white clothing,
