What can I do for help with this? I heard to drink lots of water, but we are going from Denver straight to Telluride, and that is over 9000 ft. Am I going to be dizzy and sick?~ Arrrggggggg.

  1. Many people have no problems at all, esp. if they are young and healthy.  Going to high altitude, esp. suddenly is more dangerous for people with cardiac and pulmonary illnesses.  Drink plenty, rest and avoid strenuous activity esp. for the first few days.

  2. Not if you take it easy.  No 14,000 ft mountains your first week.  Drink lots of water.  Not alcohol.  Eat lightly, sleep a lot.  And get your mindset ready NOT to get sick.

  3. Just take it easy and drink lots of water the first few days til you see if you have any reaction at all.  Many people have no reaction.  Bring lotion because your skin will get dry.  Just don't try to do a lot of activity the first day until you can tell if you are going to have a reaction.

I go from the coast of Washington State (literally at sea level) to Denver and Telluride and Angel Fire, NM all the time and have no reaction at all.
