We are missing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379, admits MS Dhoni – Cricket News Update
India’s World Cup winning captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, has admitted that the side has been missing its key pacer, Zaheer Khan, during the ongoing clash against England.
Following a hamstring injury on the first day of the Lord’s Test, Zaheer remained unavailable for the next two matches. It was a massive blow for the tourists when the left-arm
pacer failed to regain his fitness and was ruled out of the whole tour.
Talking to media persons on the eve of the 4th Test starting today at the Oval, Dhoni conceded the reality that even though the side has many other capable bowlers in the line-up,
Zaheer’s absence is a big loss for the Men in Blue.
"If you see the calibre of Zaheer Khan, then, you can say we have missed Zaheer Khan, because he has got plenty of experience and he can move the ball. He can plan a batsman
out, and that is what important in these circumstances," said Dhoni.
The Indian bowlers have not been able to show anything consistent so far in the series. In the second Test at Trent Bridge, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s score was 124 for eight when the Indians
failed to keep the good work going and hamper the Englishmen from piling up a decent total in the first innings.
Moreover, they seemed ineffective in the last game, as the Poms amassed over-700 runs. Yet, Dhoni expressed satisfaction over the performance of his bowlers and termed the batting
department as the major cause of concern for the side.
"We are a side that is known for its batting. Of course, the bowlers have done very well for us. So I think priority will be to put runs on the board and then look to put pressure
on the opposition's batting line up," added the wicket-keeper batsman who was India’s highest run-getter in the third Test, scoring 77 and 74 respectively.
Meanwhile, the skipper backed the blistering opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739, who got out on golden ducks in both innings, saying that a natural stroke-maker like Sehwag sometimes loses
his wicket while playing aggressively.
