  1. I use to live in New Zealand and now live on Queensland's Gold Coast. I could not think of a better place to live in the whole of Australia.

The weather is basically always sunny here! It is now as I'm typing! The Gold Coast has heaps of nice yellow-sand beaches and yes the people here are really friendly.

As well as being a vibrant city, we also have the beautiful Hinterland just to the west. A lot of the Hinterland actually reminds me of country New Zealand (hills, sheep etc.) The air is really clean up there too.

The Gold Coast has really good schools everywhere as well as some good universities. Another good thing about the Gold Coast is that you are only a 50 min drive from the Brisbane CBD.

We also have four large theme parks here that your kids would love!

In regards to taxi driving, I know for a fact that there are lots of opportunities for you because many taxi drivers are giving up their jobs.

Reason being, and this is not so nice, there have been quite a few violent attacks on taxi drivers at night. But I'm sure you will be fine :)

Thanks for the question and good luck with the move!

  2. i live on the gold coast and i think maybe the employment opportunities for taxi driving may be kinda scarce. limo driving? tour bus driving? definitely. but i dunno about taxi's.

brisbane city is great for taxi driving employment but definitely not living near the city with young children.

  3. Melbourne or Brisbane. not sydney, wayyy too big.

and 4 weeks? your that close to moving and still havent chosen a city?

  4. Brisbane, i would say find a suburb about 30 min out of the city. Otherwise house prices and rent would be too expesive. Just like they would be in any big city.

I am always waiting ages for a taxi, so i reckon they need more on the road!!  Also the schools are good, and its close to the Gold and Sunshine coast for kids.

Lots of nice people and at the moment SE QLD is one of Australias hottest plaes to move to.

As for the weather, i am sitting here in the middle of winter and its a fine and sunny 24 degrees outside. In summer its does get a bit hot, but you would find that in most places. Avoid South Australa in summer unless you like 40+ days!!
