I have heard mixed reviews about going. Not a lot do but drink or there is a lot of history. MY wife and I like to hike, sightsee, eat. We are young and looking for an adventure.

  1. I was in Ireland 3 years ago and my friend in England arranged the whole trip. We rented a car and toured the country side for two days . Great stopping in small villages they all have Bread&breakfast also regular hotel rooms if you want to spend a little more. We went on a tour of the Guiness factory and went to local pubs were the locals sang Irish music if was fantastic very traditional and relaxing. You can arrange a car right at the airport and the country is very easy to travel by car in. Hope you have fun!!!

  2. I just got back from Ireland.  There are extensive hiking and biking trails throughout all of Ireland.  There is tons of sightseeing, especially castles and natural wonders like the Cliffs of Moher.  I reccomend Belfast, Portrush, and Giant's Causeway.

  3. Ireland has PLENTY of hiking trails. Many along side the lakes.

Lakes in Ireland are called Loghs, pronounced "Locks".

There are books available, as well as magazines crammed with info on hiking in this counrty.

Don't be fooled, this country has MUCH more to offer than just the delicious Guinness.

The Irish Tourism board has a web site. But take the time to delve further...take a few minutes in a local book store to flip through the guide books.

The smaller towns in the interior of the country offer a taste of what traditional Irish life is like.

The cities are growing at a vast rate and quite comparable to other European cities for culture, food, shopping, etc.

The coastal towns offer a great combination of scenery history, and changeable weather.

This country is like no other. The views, the people, the lifestyle.  DO GO.

  4. Omg there is loads of stuff to do over here! go to kilarny,  its a beautiful place and yes we rae very friendly. hiking well go somewhere mountainous like up here in northern ireland and go to the mourn mountains. that will give you abit of excitement trust me! up north is way more fun than down south lol (no offence intended) you want to stick to somewhere by the sea. Donegal mabey thaere is so much to do up there and sligo. Armagh and tyrone arnt really that exciting just like bug towns but there is alot of horse riding you can do over here. and the main place to go shopping is Belfast its a lovely city if you go to the right places that is. Derry is also a great place to go. But i'd say either kilarny or up Norther but i wouldnt say anywhere else not to interesting anywhere else to be honest and not Dublin just a very over crowded city seriously there is nothing special about the place.
