  1. I love Costa Rica too, and LOOOVE all the same things you love.  Check out my answer to the other person asking about Manuel Antonio / Quepos.  I'm too lazy to write it all again . . . but I will tell you this . . . you will LOOOOOVE the resort Si Como No in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica . . . AND YOU WILL LOOOOOOVE the area surrounding it.  110% !!!!

  2. Hi, I'm from Costa Rica, I add you this information, I hope that helps you:

Luck and welcome to Costa Rica, my country

  3. Puerto Viejo is my favorite place in Costa Rica. It's on the southern Caribbean cost and is far away from the mega resorts and developments that seem to have taken over the pacific side of the country.

Cahuita national park is a short bus ride away and you can rent and ride bicycles to manzanillo national park. At both parks you will see lots of wildlife while walking the trails or along the beach. You have to be careful with your belongings at the beach because monkees have been known to steal peoples packs and toweels while they were in the water.

Puerto Piejo has a lot of good dining options. My favorite is El Loco Natural.

Many bars and restaurants also have a happy hour with 2x1 coctails. My favorite place to drink and people watch during the day is the bar at El Dorado right on the amin street through town. The Bar at Rockin' J's is also a fun place to drink.

ON My first trip I stayed at Banana Azul which is abnout 2 km (1.5 miles) north of town. It's really nice but you need a car or to take a taxi into town at night. The second time I rented house for two weeks in town so we didn;t need a car.

Check out the lkjhi below to read about my 3 trips to COsta RIca

  4. Okay, are you looking to stay in one place or travel and see a variety of topography and vegetation? The Guanacaste region and the Nicoya Peninsula are the best for beach destinations. Check out Mal Pais and Santa Teresa, they are my favourite.

Inland you will find more rain forest and canopy adventures, waterfalls, and nature hikes. There are a few national parks in Guanacaste which would make it convenient to go to the beach also. Rincon de la Vieja is a volcano in this region, and there is a super cool natural sulfuric hotsprings in the national park.

Here is some general info on the Guanacaste reagion. with this site you can compare hotels and check out what each region of the country has to offer

  5. Big fan of Manuel Antonio!!!!!!!!! There is a huge national park, there is wildlife everywhere, tons of healthy food (but you should stick with the basics in CR, fresh fish, chicken, rice, vegetables, fruits) lots of activities, horseback riding, snorkeling, ATVs, and of course sitting on the beach with a cold coconut and doing nothing :)

As for happy hour, la Barba Roja (if its still there) has a great place to have a drink at sunset, and theres a bar called El Avion that looks like..well...it IS a plane. check it out!

  6. You should visit Jaco check it out in the internet ...we live in that area you get a little of everything you want ...you are going to have a great time in PARADISE
