We will be reaching Buffalo by 10:15AM and plan to leave Buffalo by 5:45. Will we be able to take the maid of the mist given that it is the long weekend?

  1. You are looking at maybe an hours wait.

  2. Here is a link to their schedule:

It appears that they will be running until 7:45pm on the 24th.  You might want to leave Buffalo a little earlier, because it is the long weekend you can expect some *serious* traffic at the border, and in Niagara Falls!  Normally it would only take about 45 minutes, but you should allow at least a couple of hours.... I'd say leave at 5pm, better yet make it 4pm to be safe.

You'll need to find parking somewhere when you get in.... if you are staying at a hotel, it would be easiest just to park there then either walk down to the falls or take a taxi.

The lineups at the Maid of the Mist run through pretty quickly, so you shouldn't have to wait in line for more than 30 minutes.

    Have a good trip!

  3. Hi we went there the same time last yr, we did not wait so long about 20-30 min (but maybe i went there on a good day.. i dont know) but, but the ride will be veryyyy windy, loud and cold, so heads up!

    Enjoy your trip.

  4. I would certainly leave much earlier. With it being a long weekend lineups at the border may mean you would be too late to take the trip.

Is there any chance you could go the next day and be there early in the morning? That way you won;t be rushed and the lineups won;t be as long.

  5. I go on the Maid of the Mist a lot. The longest i have ever waited was prolly like two to three hours. Since the weather is so unpredictable you never know how many people are going to be wanting to go on.
