Question:

We are replacing our bathroom vanity and it is a 1/4 too big for the tile that is already in...Can we trim it?

  1. Trim the tile or the vanity? I think a picture would help a lot but, can't you just put it right on top of the tile? If it only rests on one side of the tile shim the other side up so it's level. What kind of tile is it? Maybe you can trim that.


  2. I assume you mean a 1/4 inch and want to trim the tile.

    Something like a rotozip with a rotary adapter and diamond blade would work well .  If it's a small length of tile a  Dremel type tool and cutter would also be ok. It might chip the tile a little but nothing that a bead of well applied caulk and/or quarter round wouldn't cover.

    I do not recommend scoring the tile and trying to break it off.  

    Wear a good dust mask.

  3. Usually the face is little bit wider then the rest of the cabinet so yes you should be able to trim it.

  4. a pic would be nice, mostly depends on material it is made from and if you have the proper tools and equipment to do it.
