  1. South Park is the best area to live in. Charlotte is not country, it is the financial center of the southeast and as far as schools are concerned, the public schools are good and if you don't like them, there are private grade schools that charge as much as some colleges. Charlotte is not a southern hick town; even has a football team in the NFL.

  2. Charlotte has really exploded in the past decade. It's NOT "country." Yes, some of the the surrounding areas can be perceived as "country," but that's going to be anywhere in a lot of the US.

As for suburbs, the Davidson/ Cornelius area is very very nice. However, if you move there, be sure to check the zoning for the schools. You do NOT want to put your child in the West Charlotte district.

I agree with the suggestion about the South Park area.

    Good schools:

    Country Day

    Providence

    Charlotte Latin

    Bad areas:

East Charlotte near Sharon Amity/ Central Ave./ Eastland Mall (YUCK)

Parts of Monroe Road/ Sugar Creek
