  1. Contact your local British Waterways Office for details,,,

  2. Contact the Organisation called 'British Waterways' !

  3. The best way to find out is go to the canal and ask.The canal jungle drums are wonderful. Good luck.

  4. British Waterways - see web site - not only have their own marinas (such as Sawley where they often advertise available moorings) and canal-side moorings (these are basic without shore power) on the opposite side from the tow path, but they will send you lists of moorings, such as bottoms of farmers' fields where the farmers have mooring rights and will rent them out.

Have a look at any of the boating magazines in WH Smiths and at the back you will see moorings and marinas advertised.

Contact the Inland Waterways Association - they are very helpful.

I moor on the Trent & Mersey in a Marina which has a Waiting List, but if you are interested in that canal, then I believe there are several moorings at Barton Turns Marina, nr. Alrewas.  Stenson Marina may have moorings to let, too.

There are quite a lot of moorings around for non-residential boats if you aren't fussy about a particular Marina.

Remember that charges vary around the Country - the closer you get the London, the more expensive they become.

  5. Moorings are as rare as rocking horse poo, the ones that are available near to civilisation are very expensive. Good luck.

  6. i have been thinking the same thing but finding moorings is  almost impossible one of the best ways would be to buy a boat with moorings where you would like to be

  7. get a map of the river or canal you want to navigate,
