  5. I think your original question was whether you could speak to other people who immigrated to Canada. You could ask here at Y! Answers, but you will likely get a wide variety of answers, some from people who have been here all their lives, and some from people who are not even from Canada but just have their opinion of it.

I was born and raised in the Montreal area, so I do not claim to be able to give you answers to what you can expect as an immigrant.

However, here is one thing I would suggest: Tell people where you are coming from and what part of Canada you were thinking of settling in. You may also want to tell people the rough ages of your children and what your profession is.

By giving these minor details, the people reading your question can better direct you on what to expect. For example, if you have kids that will be going to college, it is a different answer than if the child is still in elementary school. If you are a computer programmer vs a taxi driver vs a dentist, you may get differing opinions on the best region to settle in and how hard it will be to find work.

Your nationality will help us direct you to organizations in Canada where other immigrants may be able to answer your questions. For example, someone from Iran may want to discuss their views on racism in Canada, or opportunities for Persians.

Someone from the Atlantic coast of Canada will also have a different opinion than someone from the west coast or from Quebec, a francophone province.

Keep these issues in mind when submitting your questions.
