Our friends purchased tickets 2 weeks ago and 1.5 months ago, and, respectively, paid $700 and $600... we now can't find anything near there. Is there a trick or a secret to this? Thanks all~

  1. Comparison travel engines:

    http://www.sidestep.com

    http://www.bookingbuddy.com

    http://www.kayak.com

    http://www.cheapflights.com

or small online agencies such as http://www.flycheapabroad.com

    Where are you flying from?

You could always wait until the high season is over.

Also - if you are flexible - move your travel dates beginning of November - there is a significant drop in prices then.

  2. Play around with the day of the week and time of day you can leave. Weekend flights are always lots more expensive.

  3. go to www.clarkhoward.com check out the travel section, ask U R ??? there!! also do the farewatch from travelocity, they will send U email every day about the fare...

  4. Wait till july august

  5. check travel websites: travelocity, expedia, hotwire etc

  6. Yahoo offers a search engine where it will search all possible websites and flights for the best possible deals. check it out. it's great.

  7. I flew to Milan in March and I used a company called Destination Europe.  They have a website but it isn't for booking.  You need to call them direct at 1-800-FLY-EUROPE.  They were the cheapest I could find and were really great to work with.  Also, check out www.cheapflights.com.  That site offers a lot from airlines consolidating tickets.  If your dates are flexible, one of those may work for you.

  8. wait until the end of august to purchase your tickets,.. sales for that time are not on yet.. it shouldnt be more then 500 with taxes included.
