  1. Go into a closet and put loads of cloths or towels on u and your kids heads. or go under the stair case. or in the bathtub. good luck

  2. Laundry room, or some places open school doors so people can go into the gymnasium. Call the police department and see if they know of anywhere you can go.

  3. The lobby is a good Idea, it's the loest area. A tornado watch is when conditions are right for a tornado. A tornado warning is when there is a tornado somewhere close, so get prepared to maybe even leave if it turns to a tornado warning, stay calm and wait and listen.

  4. Move to a location that has no tornados.

  5. When it turns into a tornado *warning* that means that an actual tornado has been spotted in your area.

If there are no underground shelters (proper shelters or basements), then get to an inside wall on a lower-level floor (ground, 1st floor), AWAY from any windows, and huddle down.  If you can get to a room without any windows (closet) on a lower-level floor that would be the best.

Carry a thick quilt with you and wrap you and the kids up (to help stop any flying objects from severely bruising or cutting you).  Get behind a table, desk, or dresser if possible.

    .

  6. This is the time right now to plan what to do for a tornado and make sure you have a NOAA weather alert radio The radios can alert you when a tornado warning is issued at night while sleeping.

A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop and you should pay close attention to the weather. A watch it typically issued with in 2-3 hours of the event.

When a tornado warning is issued that means doppler radar has detected rotation in a storm or trained spotters have spotted a rotating wall cloud, funnel cloud, or a tornado on the ground.

If a tornado warning is issued for your area, do not panic. Go to a place of safety. Go to the lowest floor of your house like the basement. Once in the basement get under a sturdy piece of furniture or go into a bathroom in the basement. If no basement is available go in to an interior room such as a closet. If that is not available go in to an bathroom without windows. Stay away from outside walls and windows. Cover your head to protect from flying debris. Never try to out run a tornado in a car, if cought in a car and can not take no place of safety, lay down in a ditch and cover your head. Do not take cover under a over pass. Do not stay in mobile homes as they do not offer protection and can be flown as easily as cars can.

  7. In a situation like that (no basement), the best places to be are (depending on structural integrity) the central-most room in the house/apt, in the bathtub with heavy quilting or such over you, or in the north eastern most room. Stay away from windows! I hope all will be well!

  8. watch the weather.

  9. the most inner room of the building like the bathroom .or a landry room.  Thats what i have been told and i live in kansas. you dont want to be around windows. it is a watch the condations are just right when it becomes a warning take cover then

  10. keep watching the weather stations to see if it turns into a tornado  warning......bathroom is a good place to go if it turns into a warning

  11. go to a room with no windows at the center of the house
