The tactician was keen to shower praise on his forward line following their 8-0 demolition of Pero Pinheiro
in the Portuguese Cup.
The Portistas played their opening tie of the Portuguese Cup this weekend, with the game taking place away from Estadio do Dragao.
Vitor Pereira’s men played without the majority of their star players, but despite their absence, they were able to comfortably bag victory.
Walter led the line-up front and was the main perpetrator of his side’s attack, as he notched up an incredible four goals during the ninety minutes.

Things got off to a slow start as the home side were determined in their efforts to keep out the Portuguese giants. While they were successful early on, Porto showed their quality and were eventually able to score on 30
minutes.
Steven Defour became the first name on the score sheet after finishing a good move for the visitors. The Belgian was played in by Walter and made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
After scoring the opener, the reigning champions flexed their muscles and brushed aside their rivals, taking the score up to 5-0 even before half-time.

With splendid display by his attackers, Vitor Pereira was ecstatic with the result and revealed that he was thrilled with the quality players at the helm.
“Walter is well and had a good game, but Kleber also has great quality. We are well served by strikers. They are players who lscore goals and are doing things well at the moment,” he said.
The trainer also reiterated that he was not worried about the upcoming UEFA Champions League and said that Kleber will return for the European fixture.

FC Porto now take on APOEL in the UEFA Champions League on the 19th of October.
