We arrived in San Fran last night, and I was so worried I wouldn't tip the bellboy enough.. Is $5 enough?

I've only ever been to the US once & my parents did all the paying then! Now it's just myself & my boyfriend.. He was really friendly & asked where we were from & even talked to my bf about soccer (he's from the UK but he doesn't even like soccer but it was still nice to have an actual conversation!) I didn't want to seem a tightass & I'm really hoping I didn't offend him when I gave him $5. We had 2 suitcases and a couple of backpacks... Was this enough?

Generally, the accepted "normal" amount is $1 per bag, so I think you did fine.
