We borrow billions for the War, why can't we borrow 380 million, one million for every citizen in America?

Question

We all have to pay the taxes that are used to pay back every dime, Trillions for this stupid and murderious war, and probably for nothing in return except the dead and wounded Military Veterans, or kids. Why not borrow enough money to solve many of our real personal problems.

Or better yet, how about setting up accounts for each individual and prepay preschool, after school and room and board in College which each can draw on as they grow-up.

People who can afford the best, can kick in the extra money necessary out of their pockets.

What wrong with this idea?

(The Conservatives that want all the fun and advantages in life for themselves can just pay their own way because you are not forced to take government money!)

Course your math is wrong---but idea in other areas would work--such as instead of letting people use medicare for insurance the Government could save millions by giving 5000 dollars per year to every medicare receipent and let them buy their own insurance----this is one way from keeping the system from going down the drain and save millions in government spending to doctors and hospitals----also less people would seek medical care.

Why is it that there is always some mooch who thinks that because I make bank, and work my butt off every single day.. that I should share with them? My parents were incredibly poor, but I worked myself through college.. started my own business..

I think handouts make you value things a lot less. If you were entitled to free education you would not value it.

And if you dont have money.. you can work hard in High School and get a scholarship.. Or a pell grant. There is always a way.. but the lazy always want someone else to do it for them.

As an employer, its very hard to find people that actually want to work. Most of them expect to work sometimes, vacation sometimes and be paid for all the time.

Well the reason is simple, there is way too much money being made by the military industrial complex, Cheneys reconstruction companies like Halliburtons, KBR, Blackwater security, the Carlyle group, Titan, CACi, Locheed Martin, Raytheon, and dozens more rip off bandits, Exxon mobil, Chevron etc etc etc.

Conservatives aren't FORCED to take Government money?

Well I am sorry that it is so hard for you to have be forced to take money handed to you that you actually need more now.  I am sorry that I can pay my own based off of incredibly long work hours and good money management.

What's wrong with your idea?  Ask Russia, it worked out so well for them.  What is my motivation to work harder if you just want to take my money and give it to people sitting around on their butts playing X-Box complaining that the jobs picking fruit are "beneath" them.

Also you are apparently unfamiliar with how the Government operates and how monumentally F'ed up this plan would get when they tried to implement it.

Because we're already 8 trillion plus and counting in debt. To take out a million dollars for everyone in America but the ones who already have a million dollars would still be costly because that would still be providing for millions of citizens. We could also count everyone under the age of 18 out and we'd still be over the hundred million mark. Take away all illegal immigrants and we probably would be slightly over 100 million. I think that the states should pass an amendment stating that the federal government can only run in the red in times of war or unless the citizens of America allow for borrowing in a vote of 66/33%. I think that it is hypocrisy for the federal government to run in the red while requiring state and local governments to run in the black.

Let's say you could get a million dollar loan from the Gov't, what happens when people start defaulting on all that money?

The country goes into a deep depression, people starve, homelessness and crime run rampant.  Bad idea.

If you gave everyone a million dollars than what would be the incentive for Americans to work, be innovative, become engineers and doctors.  A better solution would be to lower taxes so 1/3 of our money isn't going to Federal Government.  That would create more cash flow in Americans pockets.  Vote Ron Paul into office.

First of all 380 million would be 1 dollar for each citizen, wouldn`t help that much. Second, if everyone gets a million next day you wake up and this money won`t be worth anything because of infliation. Now, stop borrowing billions for illegal war and pay off national debt - that would be nice.

Bite me. I am tired of working hard only to give almost a 3rd of it in taxes to people that think they are entitled to it while I struggle. I am a Conservative, and when do I get to have fun??? I work hard, where is my free health care and food stamps? And for your information I can and do just pay my effing way, and I am not only taking care of my family, but others who do not care about anything but getting something for free without lifting a finger to earn it.

its apparent you don't understand the fundamentals of money if everyone got a million dollars from the government the prices of everything will go up because the price of a dollar wouldn't be worth much it would be the same boat we are in right now but with a few more digits on the price tags its called flooding the market look it up sometime or have someone you know explain it to you better in person
