    because, i don't think it's possible

  3. Your question omits critical details. Who are you talking about? Are you talking about the IP address assigned to your machines or the externally-visible one when you access the Internet? Are you both on the same network, or not?

  4. You don't have the same IP address because it's not possible

If you are using a router to share an internet connection between the computers in your local network you will (and should) all appear to use the same external IP-address (that is the one visible from the "internet"). The router will the translate any incomming data so that it ends up at the right computer.

    On your local network, and the internet if you are connected directly, you should have a unique IP-address, or strange things will happen. Usually a DHCP-server is used to automatically assign unique IPs when you connect to a network, but without one you have to make sure that there arnät any collissions yourself.
