We bought a flexplay DVD and since playing it, our DVD player no longer works.....?

....has anyone else ever experienced this? Wonder if buying a disc cleaner for the DVD may help?

  1. u can try, it might just be more worth it to buy a new one.. dvd players are so cheap you can get them for $30 bucks..

    spending $5-10 bucks on a cleaner could just go towards a new dvd player.

    how long ago did you buy it? consider returning it?


  2. If you have a traditional DVD player, there should be no reason the flexplay dvd did anything to the player, there are a few exceptions.

    OLD dvd players (pre 2003 or so), might have issues after playing a disc if the unit is already on it's way out. These things don't last forever.

    It's possible the laser itself could be dirty, and a disc cleaner might work, but most are dry-cleaners and if you've got residue on the lens, this won't fix it. If you're a smoker...tar loves to accumulate on the lenses.
