We bought a new green cheek conure and its really scared.?

Question

We bought >another< green cheek conure and its extremely afraid of people.

I opened its cage and it started to roam a bit and came out and tried to escape.

I caught it because i didnt want it going behind the T.v and stuff.

my current bird i own likes to have her head scratched so i tried it with the new bird. it worked out fine and the new bird liked it and trusted me a bit more.

And then it crawled onto my shoulder and again tried to fly away.

the bird must get use to being inside the house and being inside  your cage and in your house and not the store so just give it some time and work with the little guy

You should really leave a new bird in his cage for a couple of weeks before you attempt contact with him.  Sit in a chair beside his cage and talk to him, even read a book to him.  Of course he won&#039;t know what you are saying.  It is just the companionship. Then slowly start putting your hand in his cage a little bit at time till he is used to you.  Patience and time is what is needed.
