  1. Your tv is not DTV ready.  However ....

You will need to buy a box only if you get your tv reception via antenna.  If you get your signal from cable, satellite or phone company then you do not need anything.

  2. the TV is almost ten years old same as mine. Ive been told mine is analog. usually its the new models that are HDTV ready. i went to a site and got a forty dollar coupon courtesy of the goverment. which means i will only pay 19.99 for a converter box way cheaper then a new TV. dtv2009.gov

  3. its ready, but u wont like it in the future. as long as u have cable, nothing will effect u, BUT, ur cable company is steadly droping channels, and soon u wont have as much choices as u do now. the cable co. is doing this to upgrade the system and have less non addressable service calls, and sell boxes. actually digital boxes are cheaper now then ever, really the same price as basic cable with alot more features, an interactive guide, on demand, instant pay per view, digital song channels, etc. i would suggest to do it b/c its the same as basic, and ur getting more.

  4. It will work fine
