My friends and I want to hold either a charity walk or a charity dinner in NYC. Which one would cost less? Which one would be easier to do?

  1. A walk is *always* easier and cheaper to plan/execute than a dinner. With a dinner you need to find the venue, caterer, entertainment, etc, and pay for all of those items out of your pocket in hopes that you sell enough tickets to cover costs. With a walk, you mainly need to do the advertising for the event. You don't even need to section off roads because sidewalks and/or park pathways are public places so there's nothing to do with that. The biggest thing you have to decide is if anything is going to happen at the end/start of the walk, or if it's just the walk itself.

I've helped out with Free Tibet walks for many years and it's fairly easy to set up compared to other events. Good luck!

  2. Due something you can realate too, like if your dad died of some cancer or and eye problem or if you sister has AIDS or for africa or some small country.
